Where can I do my laundry?
There is one washing machine on-site but it is not usually accessible for guests. We have been told we can use it for emergencies.
Therefore, we would encourage you to make use of the following options before or after the conference:
1) Laundrette in Klagenfurt

Please note that this laundrette is CASH ONLY.
We will create an opportunity for people to do laundry there on Thursday morning (31st August) as part of our trip to Klagenfurt.

There is a smaller but otherwise similar laundrette in Villach.

Do I need to bring cash?
Cash is King in Austria! Some places in Austria don’t accept card payment so it is highly recommended to always have a small amount of cash with you.
Also, you might need cash for the conference bar (cash only!), to settle conference fee discrepancies (for example if we didn’t receive the full sum because of bank charges, or you forgot to pay the annual fee, etc.), and to buy raffle tickets.
The nearest ATM to the conference site is in the town centre (30 min walk from Cap Woerth).
Can I arrive earlier or stay longer at Cap Wörth?
It may be possible to arrive earlier or stay longer but this has to be arranged directly with the hostel – please send an email to jgh.capwoerth@oejhv.org, mentioning that you are a participant of the IFYE Conference.
How can I register for the tours during the conference?
Each participant has received an email with information about the different tours, and a link to a web form to rank the tours in order of preference. Based on this, we will allocate the spaces on the different tours. If you have not received this email, please get in touch with secretary@ifye.at.
Do I need to bring a towel?
Each participant will be provided with one big and one small towel. Further towels can be requested at reception for a small fee.
Can I iron my clothes at the conference site?
At least one iron will be available to use on site.
Do I need to bring a hair dryer?
There are no hair dryers on-site but the organising committee are planning to bring as many as we can.
If you have space in your luggage for a small hair dryer, and you want to make sure you always have one ready, then it might be best to bring one yourself; otherwise you can borrow one from the team.
Are there any single rooms?
We only have a very limited number of single rooms and reserve ourselves the right to allocate them to the people who need it most, for example for medical reasons. If you have special room requirements, please contact secretary@ifye.at.
Are children allowed at the conference?
Children are welcome at the conference. A registration form must be filled in for children, too. Please reach out to secretary@ifye.at if you are considering taking under 18s to the conference.
Can I have further information about the conference t-shirt?
The conference t-shirt will look similar to the below draft and is functional wear. It will be available in sizes XS to 6XL. You can choose between a men’s and a women’s fit (picture below shows the men’s fit). Children’s t-shirts are available upon request. If you select a t-shirt during the registration process, please make sure you add the cost of 25 EUR to the conference fee.
Can you assist me with my VISA application?
Please note that each participant is responsible for their own travel arrangements, including arranging any necessary VISA. Further information can be found here: https://www.bmeia.gv.at/en/travel-stay/entrance-and-residence-in-austria/visa/
Unfortunately, no VISA sponsorship is possible.
Can you provide me with an invitation letter?
Invitation letters are sometimes required for VISA applications and can be provided after successful registration and payment. Please contact secretary@ifye.at.
